The website dissertationthroughaction.space by Malin Arnell is part of an art project at the Stockholm University of the Arts. The first website, created in 2016, presented the announcement and programme of her 72 h performance. The second website features the archive of her artistic work and the complete referential framework of Malin Arnell’s practice. In her performances, the artist deals with extreme and unpleasant interpersonal situations and aims to involve the viewer and enable them to participate. Her works are experiences. The dissertation performance lasted for a period of 72 hours: We translated this extreme length and the idea of action as a means, into the design of the website. The large font turned the announcement website into an endless scroll. Via mouse over, the visitor moves the letters in various ways: The title dances as soon as it is touched, the headlines jump. With each click, the visitor leaves a visible trace—a dashed, coloured line follows the course of the click.
